METUCHEN – Freeholder Director Christopher D. Rafano and Freeholders Stephen J. “Pete” Dalina and Blanquita Valenti, along with Sheriff Joseph Spicuzzo and County Clerk Elaine Flynn will seek re-election this year.
Spicuzzo said the five candidates, all Democrats, are looking forward to the campaign, where they will highlight how they have helped Middlesex County residents.
“In light of these difficult economic times, our Freeholder Board has done a great job in keeping the county share of property taxes stable, preserving open space, providing adequate services for our seniors, and improving the quality of life for our residents,” said Spicuzzo. “Chris, Pete and Blanquita each have distinguished records and have come through for all residents time and again.”
He continued, “Elaine Flynn is a highly respected county clerk who has performed her duties impeccably. She has implemented many important initiatives which have made our clerk’s office the best in the state. As for myself, I am ready to run again. I’m proud of my record as Sheriff and intend to show that I am more than qualified to serve another term.”
The candidates will seek the Middlesex County Democratic Organization’s endorsement at its convention in March.
